Cyrenous Green was born 1 February 1827 in GA and died 14 February 1901 in Rome, Floyd Co, GA.1,2

He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War; Texas Valley District 1866; Private Infantry Battalion, Smith's Legion, GA Vols., May 6, 1962; transferred to Co. D. 65th Regt. Ga Inf., Mar 1863; absent, sick in hospital Aug 8 1863-Aug 31, 1864; in hospital at close of war.3

The 1870 Floyd Co, GA census shows Cyrenus Green, age 42, white male, Farmer, Value of Real Estate: 1500, Value of Personal Estate: 300, born in GA.4 He could read, write, and speak English.5

Richard Green (born 18 December 1859;10 died 2 February 1910); married Martha "Mattie" L. Shaw 14 November 1880.11

Samantha "Elizabeth" Green (born 1861);12 married John Henry Carter 16 December 1888.

Mary Louise "Lou" Green (born 21 January 1862;13 died 15 January 1922); married John C. Grant 17 November 1882.14

Susan Jane "Susie" Green (born 3 July 1866; died 8 December 1932);15 married Asa "Ace" Avery 9 February 1887.16

Melvin Cyrenious Green (born 11 September 1868; died 3 July 1932);17 married Susan Samantha "Mattie" King 20 November 1887.18 He married Rebecca "Jennie" Swofford 6 July 1890.19

Henry J. Green (born 6 May 1874; died 18 September 1945);20 married Sarah "Sallie" Elizabeth Tolbert 14 April 1892.21
